Indeed, I’d Go
For the things that I remember,
Though I don’t remember much,
The memories I do have I’ll cherish.
Eating sunflower seeds by the pond,
Waiting for the fish to finally bite.
Coloring pages and scented markers,
Crayons and colored pencils,
All scattered on the table and floor.
But time inside was not so sweet,
As open air, green grass, and bare feet.
Out in the dirt, digging and playing,
Chasing ladybugs and fireflies.
Days I miss dearly, truly I do,
For how free they felt, and without worry.
Time has passed but still I see,
The child in me, never left.
